Cash Hall to time trial

Five-year-old trotter Cash Hall, a winner of $554,298 and a mark of 1:52.4, will time trial Thursday afternoon at the Delaware (Ohio) County Fairgrounds in an attempt to beat Pine Chip's 1:54 world record set over the same half-mile racetrack in 1994.

Trainer Bob McIntosh is bringing the 2004 Hambletonian third-place finisher to Delaware off a six-week layoff. Cash Hall's last start came Aug. 10 in a Preferred race at Mohawk in which he finished fifth. Overall this year Cash Hall has one win in 12 starts.

Pine Chip's record came during his 4-year-old year, winning a $3,400 late-closer at Delaware Sept. 19, 1994. He was barred in the betting during that race. The world record for trotting horses 5 years old and up is 1:55.4, shared by Striking Ace and Nelson November.

Cash Hall has a career record of 37-11-9-2, with his career-best coming in the Dickerson Cup at the Meadowlands July 2, 2004.

Cash Hall is a son of Self Possessed out of the mare Chatty Hanover. He is a half brother to Cartier Hall 1:54.3 ($363,106) and Capetown Hall 2, 1:56.1f ($369,518) . Bred by Walnut Hall Ltd., Cash Hall is owned by McIntosh, CSX Stables, Michael Kohler and Cash Hall Stable.
