The Celebrity Farm and Polo Electric Family, home of champions Celebrity Secret and Celebrity Tribute, lost one of the youngest members of their family this week. Chris Vasiliou, age 14, lost his battle with Wegener’s Granulomatosis Disease. His father, Harry, is a long-time employee of Polo Electric, the company founded by Sam Stathis, the principle behind Celebrity Farm. Harry is also Stathis’s best friend.
Reporters at the Hambletonian Press Conference said that all of Celebrity Farm's horses will be racing in memory of Chris and that a foundation has been established in his honor. A share of any Celebrity Farm’s winning purses will be donated as the inception of this foundation.
Celebrity Secret will be the primary contender to Deweycheatumnhowe this coming Saturday at the 2008 Hambletonian.
Celebrity Legacy, Celebrity Athena, Celebrity Deville, Celebrity Feeling, Celebrity Tribute and Celebrity Secret will all be “Racing from the Heart at Hambletonian” events in memory of Chris Vasiliou (June 26, 1994-July 24, 2008). (Celebrity Farms)
