The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has reported that Centaur LLC, the owner of Hoosier Park, is still trying to find a way to build a racino in Pennsylvania, even though it is in Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
On Wednesday the company asked the Pennsylvania State Harness Racing Commission for another two-year extension of its racing license, which was originally granted in 2007. Centaur said it needed more time to build the $425 million racetrack-casino on a 250-acre site west of New Castle near the Ohio line.
But the Post-Gazette story also said that Centaur indicated before a bankruptcy judge last week that it was in no position to move forward on the project and could sell its interest in the project. Click here to read the entire story.
