Changes for 2006 PASS

Some dates and location changes have been made for this year's Pennsylvania Sire Stakes, according to a release from the Pennsylvania Harness Racing Commission.



Because the new Chester Downs racetrack will not be ready for racing until mid-September, the Sire Stakes events scheduled for that track will be conducted at Pocono Downs, as well as Pocono's regularly scheduled Sire Stakes events. In addition, Harrah's, which is building the new casino and racetrack at Chester, has agreed to supplement the Sires Stakes purses with $500,000. The 2006 Pennsylvania Sire Stakes will have four legs, two at The Meadows and two at Pocono, before the championships in September.
