Charlie moved to first

Although he crossed the wire in second, Charlie Lavec was elevated to first by the stewards at Mohawk Racetrack Thursday night in the $130,000(C) Ontario Sire Stakes Gold final for 2-year-old colt trotters. Winner Good Knight and driver Keith Oliver was initially first, but their number was taken down after it was ruled they had gone inside a pair of pylons in the stretch and gained an unfair advantage.

A winner in 2:01 for the mile, Charlie Lavec was driven by Paul MacDonell for trainer Paula Wellwood, who both share ownership in the son of Mr. Lavec with Carwin Stables.

Evidence As was third-placed-second, with Libra Vita moving up from fourth to third in the official order of finish. Good Knight, who had rallied up the inside from seventh in the final turn, was moved back to fifth by the stewards.
