Chicago tracks to commingle

Balmoral Park and Maywood Park will become the first U.S. racetracks to commingle wagering pools with Canadian wagering facilities.



Prior regulations precluded bettors in Canada from wagering into U.S. pools so separate pools were needed. This will no longer be the case as a bettor at Woodbine Racetrack now wagering on Balmoral Park, will have his or her monies added into one single pool.



"This is a significant step in expanding the international market for Balmoral Park and Maywood Park," John Johnston, president and vice president of those two tracks, respectively, stated in a press release. "We expect that our pools will grown 10 percent from Canadian tracks betting directly into our pools..."
