Chip And Gale A once again showed her dominance as the top pacing mare at Pompano Park Harness Track this year, winning her fourth straight start Friday. Despite racing over a rain-soaked track, she covered the one-mile race in 1:54.2.

Trained and driven to victory by Daryl Bier, Chip And Gale A won by one-half length over Magie Lilly Rose N (Steve Trites) and Tasma Walton N (Wally Hennessey) for her seventh win in just eight starts at Pompano Park. Vincent Ali of Manalapan, NJ owns the 9-year-old mare from Australia who is a career winner of $386,000.

The $10,000 Preferred Mares Pace started off with Hyde Park Hussie N (Walter Ross, Jr.) shooting out to the early lead from post four. She was overtaken before the opening quarter mile in :27.3 by Tasma Walton A.

Bier rated Chip And Gale A as they started up first-over before the half-mile mark in :57. Tasma Walton A continued to cut the mile in the backstretch as Chip And Gale A was grinding her way and collaring Tasma Walton A by the three-quarters in 1:25.4.

As the field reached the top of the stretch, Chip And Gale A had taken command and started to draw off with Magie Lilly Rose N making a late bid at the finish and Tasma Walton A fading to third place.
