Chloes Silver Star turned back eight rivals for a 1:52 victory in the $27,000 Open Pace feature on Tuesday at Dover Downs, while Pacific Philly registered her second win in a row in the $23,000 Mares Jr. Open.
Ron Pierce drove Chloes Silver Star to her second $27,000 Mare Open Pace win of the meet recording her ninth win of the season. The Intrepid Seelster-Silver Chloe 5 year old has been 1-2-3 in 24 of 37 starts. Trish Foulk conditions the winner of $212,370 this year for Gary Evans and Foulk Stables. Kellytuck Sophie closed well for Jon Roberts to take second with Sherri On Ice and Vince Copeland third.
In the $23,000 sub-feature, Corey Callahan pulled Robert Messick`s Pacific Philly to the outside heading for the clubhouse turn. After getting the lead at the half, the Pacific Fella-Raani Hanover 6 year old was never tested en route to a 1:52.2 triumph. It was her sixth win in 2009 bringing her seasonal earning to $132,900. Gabrielles Girl was runner-up with Pierce driving. Alpine Gold N and Tony Morgan was the show horse.
Keystone Rhythm gave Ross Wolfenden his second winner on the card guiding a 1:53.2 mile to win a $154,000 filly and mare pace. Russ MacKinnon trains the Camotion-Run With The Tiger 5 year old with his wife, Elaine. Flirtwithedealer (Morgan) was second in front of VC Atom N (Vince Copeland).
William Moffett Inc.'s Good Feeling made his first local start a success as Morgan steered a 1:57 victory in the $13,000 feature trot. The altered son of Italian stallion, Fill V I, from the French mare, I Feel Good F, won for the ninth time this year with purses of $97,325. Valdez (Jim Morand) and Powerful Committee (Pierce) were second and third respectively.
Wayne Givens' Hello Magic and Copeland had just enough to hold off Holme Town Girl (Allan Davis) by a head in 1:54.4. It was the third win in a row, seventh in her last nine and 15th triumph of the year for the Cam's Magic Trick-Hello Samantha 5 year old. Riddler On Theroof (Callahan) was third. (Dover Downs)
