Class Attack defeated 2-5 favorite Yankee Oak in a homestretch duel to win the $8,500 final of the Floating Dream Series at Scioto Downs on Wednesday night. The sophomore pacing filly was one of three winners steered by Chris Page. Driver Bob Harper sent Yankee Oak to the front from the rail and was forced to pace fast fractions by a persistent challenge from Cruiser Girl and Jeremy Smith. Then Crowntime Noreturn challenged Yankee Oak. The daughter of Yankee Cruiser shook off those attacks, but couldn’t withstand Class Act when Page positioned her for the drive to the wire. The winning margin was two lengths in the 1:56.1 mile. Class Attack is owned by breeder Philip Ireland and trainer Andrea Ellis. It was her third win in eight starts this season. (Scioto Downs)
