Longtime harness trainer and driver Clint Warrington Sr. passed away Monday, March 7, at his home in Allentown, N.J. He was 67.

Born in Milton, Del., Warrington relocated to New Jersey in the late 1950s to drive horses at Freehold Raceway and other area racetracks. Warrington later went to work for Hall of Fame horseman Stanley Dancer, and later Stanley's nephew Harold "Sonny" Dancer and others, for whom he made a career of breaking young horses to harness and training racehorses.

Warrington continued for a number of years to train for stables in the central New Jersey area around Monmouth and Ocean Counties.

Among his survivors are two sons and a daughter. Clint Warrington Jr., currently is a driver at Fraser Downs in British Columbia, Canada, who has won 908 career races and purse earnings of $4.2 million. His other son, Chris, had a brief career in harness racing.

A daughter, Joanne Lyons of Missouri, also survives as does his former wife Dorothy; four grandchildren and a great-grandson.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, March 12, at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt. Visiting time is from 12 Noon to 2 p. m. on Saturday, March 12. Burial will be private.---By Leon Zimmerman
