When you're hot, you are hot,” and Come Together is certainly hot winning from cutting out-the-mile or from off the pace for the eighth consecutive time on Tuesday Dover Downs.
Claimed out of his sixth straight win two weeks ago, Come Together after a win by a nose a week ago returned to the winner's circle after a 1:51 performance with meet-leading driver Corey Callahan in the bike.
In mid-November, Josh Green claimed the Artsplace-Pleasantville gelding for $12,500. Stepping up, the pacer won racing for a $15,000 price and then for a $20,000 tag in his next two outings. He again changed hand being claimed by Kent Harper and Claim To Fame LLC and now has won his last two, both $20,000 Claiming Allowances, for trainer Mike Hall of the Doug Lewis Stable. This time, Albert Chief A (Allan Davis) was right there in the photo finish picture, but had to settle for second. Four Starz Q (Ross Wolfenden) was third.
Eddie Davis Jr. piloted the longshot of the day when Ryan Davila's 28-1 Winning Solution set a lifetime-best 1:54.1 victory in a Delaware $7,500 claiming allowance.
Callahan enjoyed another big day, driving four winners. Trainer Dylan Davis recorded three wins. Trainer Steve Bookstaber and the Wight Byrd Racing Stable made the winner's circle twice. (Dover Downs)
