Yourcomindown got her second victory of the season at Hoosier Park Racing and Casino Wednesday night in the third leg of the Future Stars Series. The mile trot had a purse of $6,000 and gave driver Neil Coleman a good start to his day with a victory in the first race. Starting in the outside post eight, Yourcomindown turned in a controlled race and was seventh at the quarter, trailing the field which was led by Summers Delight and Don Eash in :28.2. Summers Delight continued to lead to the halfway point in :59.3. Coleman said he was not worried and said the race actually set up better than he thought it would. “This was almost a perfect trip,” Coleman said. “She didn’t have to trot hard at the start and had a lot more kick at the end. I expected quicker fractions and figured we would be farther back at the head of the lane.” This was a change in racing strategy from last year where Yourcomindown normally raced on the front end. Coleman drove the horse several times last year and noted she wasn’t as easy to drive as she is this year. “She was a bit of a hothead last year,” said Coleman. “Now she waits and has a real good kick starting at the three-quarter mile marker.” That is exactly where Yourcomindown made her move. Summers Delight continued to lead in 1:31.3 and Yourcomindown was stalking in fourth. As they turned for home, Yourcomindown had too much for the field and trotted home in :28.2, winning with a time of 2:00.1. Rounding out the top three were Dream On Shorty, driven by Kayne Kauffman, followed by Master Solutions, driven by Ricky Macomber Jr. Yourcomindown is a 4-year-old mare owned by Don Swartzentruber of Loogootee, Ind. The daughter of Evangelism is trained by Robert Wagler. This marks the seventh win of Yourcomindown’s career and second this season. The win also brought her career earnings to over $32,000.
