Continentalvictory foal wins

Gastine, a 3-year-old filly out of Continentalvictory, tipped out from third at the top of the stretch and trotted away to a 1:56.4 win in the $45,000 Kentucky Summer Championship Thursday night at The Red Mile.

Driven by Mickey McNichol, Gastine won for the third time this year. The Garland Lobell filly is owned by Dreamwithme Stable and trained by Robert Stewart.

“I’ve had her about three weeks. She’s a pro on the track, but a little finicky the rest of the time,” Stewart said after the race.

Earlier in the night, Vamp Hall won a $4,000 leg of the Perretti Farms early-closer for 2-year-old filly trotters in 1:58.3.

Vamp Hall, by Like A Prayer, was driven by Tom Sells for trainer Fred Grant and owner-breeder Walnut Hall Ltd. Vamp Hall’s dam, Veronika, is a half sister to Broadway Hall ($436,790) and the 3-year-old Boardwalk Hall.
