Thomas Barrett’s LT’s Best ($3.60, Vince Copeland) put together a strong stretch rally to win the $21,700 Junior Open Trot Wednesday at Harrington Raceway.
The 6-year-old Davanti gelding was positioned second-over as pacesetter Juanita set fractions of :29.1, :59.1 and 1:28.1. Meanwhile, LT’s Best surged three wide and overpowered the front runner for a one-length win. Juanita was second while Fivedollarsforsox finished third.
For LT’s Best, it was his sixth win of the year as his seasonal earnings ballooned to more than $158,000 for trainer Copeland.
