Copiad, a fan favorite in Sweden, especially on the day in 1994 when he beat Pine Chip in the deciding heat of the Elitlopp in Stockholm, died Oct. 19 on the same farm where he was born, SR Varmland, 23 years earlier.
A son of Texas-Bibbi Girl, Copiad won 50 of his 81 starts, with the Oslo Grand Prix and Finlandia Ajo in addition to his Elitlopp victory. He was trained and driven by Erik Berglof. He was retired from racing 1996 and stood commercially at stud until 2003.
