Although the names of the two caretakers who died in the barn fire at Lebanon Raceway on Dec. 5 have yet to be officially released, the Warren County coroner's office has announced that autopsies show the men were killed from smoke inhalation. The two workers have been identified by local horsemen as Ronnie Williams and James "Turtle" Edwards.
A memorial service was held at the track on Dec. 11 to honor the two men and the 45 horses that died in the blaze. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but any criminal intent has been ruled out.
