CR Commando nite at Dover

Return Home
April 21, 2005 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Breeding earnings for CR Commando are guaranteed to increase Thursday night as all 16 entrants into a pair of $100,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund finals at Dover Downs are sons or daughters of the Winbak Farm stallion.

Eight 3-year-old fillies will line up behind the gate in Dover's sixth race on its closing-day program. The morning-line choice from post six is Go Sassy Go, bred and owned by C. Delbert Cain. Trained and driven by George Dennis, Go Sassy Go won both her opening rounds of the series, including a career-best 1:59.2 victory in the second leg April 14.

Lining up in post seven is second-choice Vega Commando, who won the second division of the second round in a career-best 2:01.3 for trainer-driver Art Stafford, who is also co-owner with James Schlotzhauer and Love Of My Life Stable.

Dover's seventh race is for the sophomore colt trotters and Stafford will direct program choice Maid To Command from post one. Maid To Command won his division of the second round April 14 in a career-best 2:00.1. Terp, who finished third to Maid To Command in that contest, is the second choice at 3-1 for driver George Dennis and trainer Dan Myer.
