Credit Winner fillies take four of five NYSS divisions

Freshman trotters took center stage for the second consecutive night at Saratoga Gaming and Raceway on Thursday night as the New York Sire Stakes took its filly division to the Spa city on a beautiful summer night.

The first division on the two yr old filly stake would wind up being the fastest trotting event of the evening for the freshman high steppers. Torgeir Hagmann put Streak on the front end while several of their rivals were making breaks behind them. It wouldn’t matter as the Credit Winner filly trotted away to an impressive 2:00.4 victory, winning by more than four lengths in the $37,302 stakes event.

Though Streak’s win would be the fastest of the evening, her stable mate Show Your Lindys was pretty impressive as well. Hagmann was patient with this Dream Vacation filly and she outtrotted her rivals with a fast final panel of :29.2.

Trainer Paul Kelley teamed up with driver Brian Mattison for a win on Wednesday night in the colt’s division of the stakes and would again combine for a win on Thursday. Secret Credit trotted away to her second stakes win in just three tries this season behind her five length romp in 2:02.

Two more daughters of Credit Winner would prevail on the evening as that sire would produce four of the five winners on the card. Munis Blue Chip (Ray Schnittker) and Madam Hooch (Mike Simons) were the other freshman to prevail in the stakes circuit on Thursday night at Saratoga. (Saratoga)
