Trainer Ross Croghan appealed to the New Jersey State Supreme Court for a stay of his 180-day suspension for an elevated TCO2 test and, according to Harness Racing Communications, was granted that stay late Monday afternoon. The suspension was scheduled to begin Monday but the Supreme Court's ruling--which reportedly was announced by the New Jersey Racing Commission--has delayed that action. Croghan received the positive on his horse Cammabis following a victory June 6 at the Meadowlands. He was initially denied a stay by the New Jersey Racing Commission, and he was also turned down by the state’s Superior Court, Appellate Division. The leading trainer at the Meadowlands then filed his appeal with the State Supreme Court on Friday.
