Crossfire N wins Open

Crossfire N won Tuesday's $27,000 Open Handicap Pace for mares at Dover Downs, scoring a 1:51.3 decision, the second fastest mile of the meet.



Driven by Mike Cole, Crossfire N was sent three wide at the three-quarters, overtaking eventual runner-up Clock Watcher. Cams Little Imp N finished third.



The victory was the first of 2005 for the 6-year-old Crossfire N, owned by Wendy Crissman and 49 Racing Stables. She previously had three seconds and a third in nine starts. Her career earnings are approaching $400,000.
