Although Make You Mine got away "sluggish from the gate," according to Meadowlands announcer Sam McKee, driver Mike Lachance was able to rally his charge in deep stretch to win the second of two Breeders Crown eliminations for 2-year-old colt and gelding trotters at the Meadowlands Saturday night in 1:56.2, two-fifths of a second quicker than first-elim winner Chocolatier.

Make You Mine rushed past pacesetting RC Royalty (Dan Daley) to gain his sixth win in 13 starts this year. EL Mikko (Mark MacDonald) was third, with Capetown Hall and Double Player also earning a spot in the final.

A gelded son of Self Possessed, Make You Mine is trained by Ron Gurfein.

Chocolatier won the first elim in wire-to-wire fashion for driver D.R. Ackerman. The son of Credit Winner rebuffed a first-over bid around the final turn by Mr. Pine Chip (Dave Palone), holding off that one to win by 1 3/4 lengths. Global Glide (Ron Pierce) was third with Ebony Strike and Ira K finding spots in the final.

The win was the seventh of the year in nine starts for the Doug Ackerman-trained Chocolatier, who earlier this year trotted to a world record 1:54.4 win at The Red Mile.
