Taking advantage of a perfect pocket trip, Cuz She Can defeated invader Flirtiscape in the $35,000 Romalie Hanover at Harrah's Chester on Wednesday evening, drawing away in the final strides for a 1:51.3 victory.
Tracking Flirtiscape (Yannick Gingras) through fractions of :27, :55.1, and 1:24.1, Daniel Dube moved to the outside with Cuz She Can on the far turn, gathering in the leader just past the head of the stretch. "She won easily," commented Dube. "My mare felt good, I moved her to the outside and she went right past." Flirtiscape held second, while Cruzin Foralivin (Eric Goodell) kicked cover to finish third. "She can leave, race from behind, and win first-over too," continued Dube. "She's a good mare. She tries." Mark Harder trains the 4-year-old Cambest mare for Bulletproof Enterprises.
