Dali, a son of Real Artist racing in the first freshman race of the season at Mohawk Racetrack Monday night, scorched the seven furlong oval in 1:51.3, just four-fifths of a second off the track mark for 2-year-old colt pacers. With Luc Ouellette in the bike, Dali sat fourth through fractions of :26.4 and :55.4 before brushing to the lead at the 1:23.4 three quarters. A :27.4 final panel brought the Duane Marfisi-trained colt home a winner by 6 1/2 lengths over the Jody Jamieson-driven Roberts Rage.
