Five O’Clock Cindy, the dam of two-time Pacer of the Year Jenna’s Beach Boy, died Feb. 25 at Peninsula Farm in Kentucky at the age of 23.
A daughter of Cam Fella and the Windshield Wiper mare Eyewash, Five O’Clock Cindy was bred by JEF’s Standardbred Country Club and raced for Rose Guida’s Wilshire Racing Stable. She took a mark of 1:54.4 as a 3 year old and earned $116,375.
In December 1998 Five O’Clock Cindy was purchased by Lee and Linda Devisser and her first foal, which the Devisser’s kept, was Jenna’s Beach Boy. He set a world race record of 1:47.3 at age four and earned $1,972,172.
Five O’Clock Cindy presently has nine foals of racing age, with cumulative earnings of $2,622,203. Her last foal, a Real Desire colt, was born last year. She was not bred after 2008.
In addition to producing Jenna’s Beach Boy, Five O’Clock Cindy’s offspring include Duca p, 1:51.2f ($337,550), Desirable Cindy p,3, 1:52.3 ($171,664) and Hot Shot Michelle p,4, 1:50.3 ($133,725).
Hot Shot Michelle is the dam of 2009 stakes winner Atochia p,4, 1:49.1f ($488,573). Earlier this year Desirable Cindy delivered her first foal, a daughter by Somebeachsomewhere who has already been named First Beach Lady.
In addition, Five O’Clock Cindy’s daughter Cindy’s Place is the dam of Backstreet Sweetie p,3, 1:52.3f ($142,546), and her unraced daughter Cannae Jenna, has also produced.
