Dancinwiththestarz takes Mistletoe Shalee in world record

World records continue to fall at the Meadowlands Saturday as Dancinwiththestarz and Brian Sears won the $275,000 Mistletoe Shalee final for sophomore pacing fillies in 1:48.4. Rock N Soul finished second and A And Gs Princess rounded out the trifecta as favored Put On A Show wilted in the stretch.

 

Yannick Gingras placed Rock N Soul on the lead from post eight early, followed by A and Gs Princess and Dancinwiththestarz through a :27.1 opening quarter. Sears left the pylons soon after, brushing to the lead from third and reaching the half in :55 as Put On A Show and Tim Tetrick advanced first over in third.

 

As the field raced into the turn, Put On A Show moved up to second as Dancinwiththestarz reached three quarters in 1:21.2. But in the stretch the leader turned away her challengers for trainer Mark Harder. The Four Starzzz Shark-So Western filly collected her sixth win in nine starts this season. She is owned by W Springtime Racing Stb and Shannon Brott. The victory pushed her career earnings to $637,466. The time eclipsed the 1:49 word record set by Not Enough on August 8, 2009.
