Darlin's Delight picked up her 22nd career victory with her 1:52.3 score in the $201,500 Silk Stockings Pace for mares Sunday afternoon at Monticello Racing & Gaming. The 4-year-old mare by Bettor's Delight made a quarter-pole move to take command and coasted home a 5 1/2-length winner.
Darlin's Delight is a bit of a specialist on a half-mile track, posting half of her career wins on the smaller ovals. She won five races on a half at age two and six times on a half at age three, with most of those victories coming in New York Sire Stakes action.
Yannick Gingras drove Darlin's Delight to the Silk Stockings score, her third of the year in eight starts. Jeff Stafford trains the mare--now just a few thousand dollars shy of $1.8 million in career earnings--for breeder-owner White Birch Farm.
Kissmekissmekissme, Darlin's Delight's stablemate, finished second with George Brennan aboard.
