The top pacing mares Darlin's Delight and Southwind Tempo will square off for the first time ever on opening day at Harrah's Chester on Sunday when they compete in the first leg of the Betsy Ross Series.
Darlin's Delight will be making her first start of the season while Southwind Tempo is a winner of three of four starts this year, with her second-place finish in the first leg of the Classic Series putting her over the $1 million mark in career earnings.
Darlin's Delight p,4, 1:49.1, has a career record of 42-22-12-3 while Southwind Tempo's slate reads 28-22-3-2. Southwind Tempo has already taken on older mares this year in the Classic and Overbid.
My Little Dragon leads a field of nine mares in the first Betsy Ross elimination.
