One of the nation’s top drivers, David Miller, has been selected as the 36th inductee into the Ohio Harness Racing Hall of Fame in balloting of the Ohio Chapter of the United States Harness Writers Association.

The Columbus, Ohio native dominated Ohio racing during the 1990s, winning the Scioto Downs dash crown for eight consecutive seasons (1991-98) and captured the Jerry Kaltenbach Memorial Award, presented annually to the leading driver in the Ohio Sire Stakes, for seven straight years from 1992-98.

Miller moved his talent and family to the East Coast in 1999 and has quickly become one of the elite drivers in the sport. Among Miller’s 9,271 career wins are two Little Brown Jug titles and nine Breeder’s Crown Finals. Miller ranks fifth on the all-time career earnings list with $130.6 million.

He traded in his purple and gold colors for the red, white and blue when he represented the United States in the 1999 World Driving Championship in Australia.

Miller, 45, comes from a harness racing family--his father Donny and grandfather Clyde both had public stables. He resides in Cream Ridge, N.J., with his wife, Misty, and his younger daughter, Leigha. Miller’s older daughter, Devan, is a promising young driver and trainer.

Miller will be honored at the Ohio Harness Horseman’s Association banquet on Jan. 16. For ticket information please contact the OHHA at (800) 353-6442. (Ohio USHWA)
