It was déjà vu all over again for Tarver Hanover, who scored his second straight facile, front-end victory in the $25,000 Preferred Pace on Monday at The Meadows. Last week, Dave Palone guided Tarver Hanover to an unchallenged 2 1/4-length victory in 1:51.2. On Monday, the 7-year-old son of Ball And Chain-Tarport Herald turned in a near carbon copy effort for Palone, prevailing by 2 1/2 lengths in 1:51.2. Vesuvio Grande converted a gutsy first-over performance to a place finish while the pocket-sitting KF St. Patrick was third. Bill Daumit trains and The Wiz Kids Stable owns Tarver Hanover, who now has banked $537,765 in his career. In the $20,000 sub-feature for winners over $10,000, Marty’s Charm made it five wins in his last six starts with a convincing victory in 1:51.3. A 4-year-old gelded son of Aces N’ Sevens-Bets Mae, he didn’t begin his racing career until this year. Marty’s Charm has won eight of 16 starts while advancing steadily up the class ladder. Randy Tharps drove Marty’s Charm for trainer Paul Corey and owners Martha and Gerald Baluck. Tony Hall drove five winners on the 15-race card. (The Meadows)
