Recently harness tracks such as Tioga Downs, Vernon Downs and Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs have reduced some of its takeout rates, but the Thoroughbred track Delaware Park has just announced an innovative on-track-only takeout reduction on exacta wagering from Sept. 4 through its closing day on Nov. 6.
Delaware Park has a 19-percent takeout rate on exacta wagering, but on-track wagers made beginning Sept. 4 will have a takeout rate of just 10 percent. The track is calling the reduced on-track rate a “bonus,” with the regular rate remaining in effect for off-site locations.
The reduced rate will likely mean exacta payoffs will increase on-track by approximately 10 percent (a $100 exacta payoff off-track would pay about $110 on-track).
