Delmarva's Gary Pepper dies

Gary Pepper, a popular, hardworking Delmarva-area horseman over the past three decades died of an apparent heart attack on Monday at his home in Queen Anne, Md. The 45-year-old Pepper worked with horses for most of his life.
 
Mr. Pepper was an assistant trainer and caretaker spending his career with Maryland and Delaware horsemen. Over the years, he worked for Ken Wood, Eric Ell and Walter Callahan and was associated with the Nick Callahan Stable, racing at Dover Downs, at the time of his death.

Funeral services are scheduled at the Brethern Church, Godova, Md. on Friday at 11 a.m. Burial will be immediately after the services. (Dover Downs)
