Deuce in, Friskie out

As reports are out that Feelin Friskie has foot problems that will keep him sidelined for awhile, Meadowlands Pace third-place finisher Armbro Deuce has reportedly been supplemented to Sunday's $600,000(C) Confederation Cup at Flamboro Downs. The son of Western Ideal was paid into the race at a cost of $25,000(C) to his owners Bob Burgess, Karin Olsson-Burgess, Neal Cooper and Richard Kostoff.

Armbro Deuce has won once in 16 starts this year, that coming with a 1:51.3 effort July 1 in the Summertime Series at Mohawk. His last start was a second-place effort Aug. 5 in a division of the Oliver Wendell Holmes at the Meadowlands. Overall he has earned $238,200 this year.

As for Feelin Friskie, the son of Artiscape finished third in his Adios elim last Saturday at The Meadows, but then finished eighth in the $300,000 final. His connections are hoping that he recovers in time for the Little Brown Jug Sept. 21.

The draw for the Confederation Cup will take place Thursday morning.
