The stars were once again out in qualifying action at the Meadowlands on Thursday, with the highly-regarded sophomore colt pacer Deuce Seelster scoring in 1:53.1 and divisional rival Share The Delight crossing the wire first in 1:55.4. Deuce Seelster was a two-length winner of Yankee Rocketeer, with the undefeated Rudy Rednose third. New York Sire Stakes champ Riggins finished seventh in that qualifying heat. The New York-bred Share The Delight swung three wide down the stretch to score his victory in his season debut, with world-champion Badlands Nitro finishing a length back in third. The 3-year-old filly pacer Thong, racing for new connections this year after being sold as part of the $1 million-package that included Southwind Tempo, used a final quarter of :26.3 to score a half-length win over Happy Dreamer in 1:55. The 3-year-old trotting filly Bella Dolce came up a 1:57.2 winner in her qualifier while the 3-year-old colt trotter Make It Happen rallied late to win in 1:58.3. Four-year-old mare trotter Falls For You was a nine-length winner over peer Godiva Hall in 1:54 in their respective contest. On the male side, Arch Madness defeated Corleone Kosmos by 1 ˝ lengths in 1:55, while Mythical Lindy edged Man About Town by three-quarters of a length in 1:55.1 Mister Big was an open-lengths winner in 1:52.2 in his qualifier, with the mare Marnie Hall crossing the finish line first in her event in 1:54.2.
