Harness racing's two biggest stars will appear on the same stage for the first time in their careers this Saturday night when Mohawk Racetrack welcomes Deweycheatumnhowe and Somebeachsomewhere.

The undefeated Deweycheatumnhowe is one of 14 colts who will contest eliminations for the $1 million Canadian Trotting Classic while Somebeachsomewhere will compete in one of two divisions of the Simcoe Stakes.

Deweycheatumnhowe has never tasted defeat in 17 career starts and is coming off another stellar victory in the $565,000 World Trotting Derby in DuQuoin, Ill.

He captured racing's 'Holy Grail,' the $1.5 million Hambletonian, back in early August at the Meadowlands. His career bankroll now stands at a whopping $2,250,746.

Deweycheatumnhowe will start from post two in the first $40,000 elimination in race three. The field of seven will also include Hambletonian runner-up and recent winner of the $500,000 Colonial at Chester Downs, Crazed.

His pacing counterpart, Somebeachsomewhere, has but one career loss on his resume, that being a neck defeat at the hands of Art Official in The Meadowlands Pace on July 19 which produced a 1:47 world record for 3-year-olds.

Since that time, the statuesque pacer has won four straight, including a 1:49.2 world record performance for 3-year-old colt pacers on a half-mile track in the $493,000 final of the Confederation Cup at Flamboro Downs.

That victory improved his career totals to 14 wins in 15 trips postward and $2,247,606 in earnings.

Somebeachsomewhere has drawn post one in the second $132,326 Simcoe division which goes postward in race eight. He will face six rivals which include The Mohegan Pan and Dali. (WEG)
