Diana Hall, who went off at odds of 7 to 1, nosed out 1 to 2 favorite Lantern Kronos in a tight three-way photo finish that also included Stage Show, and captured the $225,200 Moni Maker final for 3-year-old trotting fillies in a career-best 1:53.2 at The Red Mile Sunday night. Diana Hall and Ron Pierce left from post five and took the field of nine to the quarter in :28.3 before yielding to Stage Show and Dave Palone, who was first to the half-mile pole in :56.4. It was there that Jimmy Takter tipped Lantern Kronos from fourth and she quickly challenged the leader in the last turn, going past the three quarters in 1:25.2. In the lane Lantern Kronos drifted wide, giving Pierce room to come out of the two hole and it was a three-horse battle to the wire. The victory was the second of the year in 11 starts for the winning daughter of Like A Prayer. Owned by Mario Mazza, she is trained by Francisco Del Cid. The victory increased her earnings this year to $239,190.
