Dillander double in Am-Nat

Four American National eliminations were contested Saturday night at Balmoral Park, with driver Jason Dillander piloting two of the divisional winners. In the $22,300 American National elim for 2-year-old trotting fillies, Jason Dillander guided Sweet Alabama to victory in 1:59.1, giving the daughter of Conway Hall a perfect steer for trainer Osvaldo Formia.

Formia conditions Sweet Alabama for owners Al Libfeld and Marvin Katz of Ontario, Canada.

Dillander also won with the highly-favored The Quiet Mon in the $23,400 American National elim for freshman pacing colts and geldings in 1:51.3

The Quiet Mon scored his fifth win of the season in seven tries for trainer John Butenschoen, who owns the Richess Hanover gelding in partnership with E. Bardowski, L. Knar and S. Zilli of NJ, GA and Wisconsin.

One of the busiest freshman pacing fillies of the season continued her winning ways in the $22,800 American National elim. The first nine finishers join Cabana Fever in the $130,000 final on Saturday. Sportsfancy and driver Ryan Anderson were first under the wire in 1:53.3 in this division.

The bay daughter of Sportsmaster is conditioned by Homer Hochstetler for HBH Standardbreds of Warrenville, Illinois and now has seven wins in 15 starts this year.

Hidden Viggorish, a sophomore daughter of SJ's Caviar, picked up first prize in the $34,900 American National for 3-year-old trotting fillies. Driven by Brian Zendt for trainer Perry Smith and owners the Harmony Spring Stable of Pittsburg, PA, Hidden Viggorish stopped the clock in 1:54.2.
