Dink Adoo wins at Balmoral

Dink Adoo marked his return to Balmoral by taking Tuesday's $15,500 Open Trot in 1:55.2.



Driver Mike Oosting took the 4-5 favorite to the rear from post position seven, allowing Universal Star (Dave Magee) to set the early fractions of :28, :58.1, and 1:27.3. By the time Universal Star had reached the top of the stretch, Dink Adoo was third, 3 ½ lengths off the leader. He trotted home in :27 to win by 3 ¼ lengths.



Meghanized (Sam Widger) was second and Big Boy Josh (Charles Conrad) was third.



Dink Adoo had been racing in conditioned trots at the Meadowlands, earning two second-place finishes this year in the Ken Rucker barn. Paul Stafford got the training credit Tuesday night at Balmoral.



The 6-year-old gelding by Inquirer is owned by Spiridon Apostolatos' Panhellenic Stb. Corp.
