Satelite Dish and driver Elliot Deaton won Monday night's $9,000 Open Handicap at Northfield Park in 1:59.3, despite fuzzy reception from the betting public.

A 5-1 shot, the 6-year-old Overcomer gelding was parked to the quarter in :29.1. After gaining the lead, Satelite Dish cruised through even fractions of :59.3 and 1:29.3 to win by 1 ¼ lengths ahead of both Semper Fi Hall (Greg Grismore) and Thanx Harry (Kurt Sugg).

Satelite Dish was coming off a win in a conditioned trotting event on Feb. 25, where he scored in 1:59.3 at 15-1 odds. The gelding is owned by Barret Filer and trained by Sue Kovacic.
