Domitian Hanover takes Dover feature

Domitian Hanover gave driver Ron Pierce his fourth of five wins and trainer Josh Green his second winner of the night in the $26,000 Open Handicap on Monday at Dover Downs.

 

In a tight finish, Green's Domitian Hanover nosed out Kelly's Spur and Corey Callahan after a long head-to-head duel to the finish line, in 1:51, to win the feature. Three Of Spaces, last week's winner, had to settle for third with Jon Roberts in the bike. Following a short rest, Green brought the Camluck-Debras Charm 6 year old back to the races with a win two weeks back, and after leading until late in the stretch last time tired and finished a close-up fourth.
