Donato Hanover continued to show his dominance over the 3-year-old trotting colt division with a powerful, 1:53.3 score in an elimination for the Stanley Dancer Memorial Friday night at the Meadowlands. Mythical Lindy got to Donato Hanover's wheel coming off the last turn, but was never a threat.
Driver Ron Pierce floated Donato Hanover away from the gate and then made the patentend move to the front just past the half, squeezing out in front of Prayer I Am. David Miller tipped Mythical Lindy firist-over going into the last turn, but his colt was no match for Donato Hanover.
The victory was the second in as many starts this season for Donato Hanover, a son of Andover Hall who is trianed by Steve Elliott.
Got That Look finished third, Altered States was fourth and Win Me Millions got up for fifth to also advance.
The first Dancer Trot elimination went to 4-5 betting choice Primary As, who scored in 1:54 over Please Poppy with Great Success third and Goodtimes winner Quite Easy finishing fourth after enduring a parked-out second quarter in :27.2.
Trond Smedshammer trains Primary As, a son of Malabar Man owned by Kittelsen Racing Stable.
Elimination winners earned the right to choose their post positions for next Saturday's $400,000 final. Sears and Smedshammer chose post two for Primary AS, while Donato Hanover's connections selected post three.
