Trainer George Teague Jr. confirmed to harnessracing.com Tuesday morning that he is considering accepting an invitation to bring Total Truth to “I was approached by a representative Breeders Crown night (Nov. 24 at the Meadowlands) and we talked about it,” Teague said. “There is also a sponsor that would help pay my way there. “But I said I’d check the schedule and if there was any way possible, I wouldn’t mind doing it,” he continued. “I’m going to see how it reflects on the other races. And remember, he’s been off for three months (Aug. 18 in the Canadian Pacing Derby final) and was scratched from the Breeders Crown final (Sept. 1). He was coughing his head off and I couldn’t see racing a horse like that.” Teague said one of the obstacles to sending Total Truth, the 2006 Dan Patch Award winner as Older Pacer of the Year, Down Under is the extended five-week quarantine period. “The timing is going to be tough,” Teague admitted. Teague shares ownership of Total Truth, who will turn five on Jan. 1, with his sister, Brenda, and Rodney Mitchell Inc. and Only Money Inc. Total Truth raced just 11 times in 2007, with two victories to increase his career earnings to $1,878,307.
