Pepsi North America Cup elimination winners We Will See, Rock N Roll Heaven and All Speed Hanover will leave from posts one, three and four, respectively, after their connections chose their starting slots at the Tuesday afternoon press conference for this Saturday's $1.5 million final at Mohawk Racetrack. Rock N Roll Heaven was installed the 2-1 morning-line choice, followed by All Speed Hanover at 3-1.
This year's guest drawmaster was P.K. Subban, star hockey player for the Montreal Canadiens.
Trainer Sam DePinto won the draw to choose first among the elim winners for We Will See, and he said he selected the inside post after talking to driver Brett Miller. Trainer Bruce Saunders then went with the three hole for Rock N Roll Heaven and driver John Campbell, and then John Fielding, co-owner of the Ron Pierce-driven Breeders Crown champion All Speed Hanover, took post four.
The open draw followed among the seven other finalists, and Sportswriter's name was the first out of the box and that colt landed post six. The defending Dan Patch and O'Brien Award winner will be driven by Mark MacDonald.
