Draw for Ky. Futurity

Return Home
October 06, 2004 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Windsong's Legacy drew post 11, which puts him at the rail in the second tier, in the $393,300 Kentucky Futurity, the third and final leg of the trotting Triple Crown. Transylvania division winner Al Dente Hanover will start from post 12, the second position, in the second tier while Cantab Hall drew post six.

Post 11 was obviously not trainer Trond Smedshammer's preferred choice for Windsong's Legacy, especially with the trotting Triple Crown on the line. Windsong's Legacy has already captured the Hambletonian and Yonkers Trot. "It's not the best, but I'd rather be close to the rail than on the far outside," he said.

The purse for the Futurity is $393,300, and it will be the fifth race on the Saturday card, at approximately 2:15 p.m. The second heat is scheduled for 3:15 with a possible race-off expected at 4:30.

Here is the complete field and morning line.

1--Castle Of Fortune (30-1)

2--Uncle Vernon (30-1)

3--Rocky Balboa (30-1)

4--Justice Hall (20-1)

5--Self Obsessed (8-1)

6--Cantab Hall (5-2)

7--Con Man (12-1)

8--Sky Watch (20-1)

9--Coventry (30-1)

10--Yankee Slide (15-1)
