Post positions for the $1.5 million Hambletonian were drawn at a luncheon press conference held at the Pegasus dining area at the Meadowlands Wednesday, and the elimination winners will line up from the rail out.
From right to left, the starter will see Cassis, Lucky Chucky, Pilgrims Taj, Mystery Photo, Wishing Stone, Muscle Massive, On The Tab, Hard Livin and Holiday Road.
Trainer Greg Peck was interviewed after Holiday Road drew post 10, and was still optimistic about his chances. "To tell you the truth, I thought that might happen," he said of drawing the far outside. "It's a starting point. I feel he's the best horse and he'll show it on Saturday."
Lucky Chucky was made the morning-line favorite. "This horse gets better every start," noted the colt's trainer, Chuck Sylvester. John Campbell, who will drive Lucky Chucky, added, "He's got a tremendous will to stay trotting and a tremendous will to win."
