Dream Rocket, who operated under the radar during the George Morton Levy Memorial Pacing Series, hasn't been hard to find since. Just check the winner's circle. The 7-year-old Pacific Rocket gelding, beginning the season 0-for-16, won his third race in the past four tries Saturday night, taking advatnage of a generous pylion assignment and soft enought fractions in Yonkers Raceway's $35,000 Open Handicap Pace. With Tony Morgan (three winners on the 10-race card) driving for trainer Mike Taub, Dream Rocket went postward as the just-over-even-money favorite. He quickly took control of the throttle, putting Eyes On Kassa (Greg Grismore) in behind and getting a :28.1 opening quarter-mile. A rated ::29.3 second quarter made the job of the off-the-pace crowd that much more difficult. Rair Earth (Jim Pantaleano) tried his fortune first-over, prompting the pace to the 1:26.1 three-quarters. Dream Rocket disposed of that interloper, taking a length lead into the lane. He widened to two lengths at the wire in 1:54.1,defeating the second-up (at 28-1) King Cat Anvil N (Jordan Stratton). Image Of Dawn (Pat Lachance) grabged third--his seventh consecutivie board finish--with Rair Earth and Whistle Bear (Pat Berry) completing the cash caravan. Dream Rocket, owned by Boy Oh Boy Stable, returned $4.10, leading a $60.50 exacta and $283.50 triple. (Yonkers)
