Dream State fastest in NYSS at Mighty M

On Tuesday, August  3 Monticello Raceway played host to three divisions of  sophomore trotting fillies  in the New York Sire Stakes late closer program  and when the results of each event were official  Dream State,  Dream Speech and Study Hall emerged victorious in their respective $13,200 divisions. And Zeke Parker won two of three trots.

Dream State, a daughter of Dream Vacation who had been honing her skills on the NYSS County Fair circuit where she won four consecutive starts, just toyed with her competition and  equaled  the time she turned in at Saratoga Harness on July 8 when Parker guided her to a seven-length 2:01 triumph over Majestic’s Joy and driver Kyle DiBenedetto.

Parker put  Dream State on the front-end  and they cruised along without ever having a challenge en route to  the filly’s  sixth win in eight starts.  Trained by David Dewhurst for Regina Dewhurst,  Dream State paid $5.00 for win.

Parker won another  division when he rallied  Study Hall to a come-from-behind squeaker  over a stubborn  You’ll Miss Allot and driver Jimmy Taggart, Jr. in a 2:04 clocking. The race, inundated by a host of breaking fillies, saw three trotters—the other EJ’s Dream Kat (Kyle DiBenedetto)--  charge to the finish line just heads apart but it was the Conway Hall filly that picked up all the marbles.

Trained by Bob Bloodgood for Edward and David Smith and James Gianuzzi, Study Hall won her second race in 10 seasonal outings and returned a $26.20 win payoff.

Kyle DiBenedetto won the other $13,100 split with the locally-owned and trained Dream Speech in a 2:03 clocking.

Maybe  because she was win-less in five lifetime starts, Dream Speech was disregarded  and sent off at odds of over 11-1 from the pole position. But DiBenedetto remained undaunted an sent the  Dream Vacation filly  to the lead  and they made every pole a winning one though  the betting favorite, Judith (Jimmy Marohn, Jr.), was charging at the wire but she fell a head short.

Dave Dziengiel co-owns and trains Dream Speech for the Salt Hill Farm, Tony Lake David Reich.

Also on the card that afternoon the very consistent claiming pacer, Future Fan, scored his fifth consecutive triumph and 11th of the season when Mike Merton  hustled the pacer  to the front and they out-footed  Lennon NZ  and Jordan Stratton to the wire in a 1:55:1 clocking..

In again for a $15,000 tag Future Fan raised his seasonal  earnings to over $41,000 for owner Danbry racing, Inc. of Allentown, NJ. (Monticello)
