Tim Tetrick has become harness racing’s all-time single-season dash winning champion with 1,078 victories. Tetrick set the record Tuesday evening in the 11th race Filly and Mare Pace at Dover Downs with Stonebridge Kisses in 1:51.4. Tetrick started his journey to the record at Tetrick, who has had only four days off this year, indicated he wasn’t ready to take a vacation, yet, saying, “I’ve come this far, so let’s blow it (the record) out of the water.” Coming into Tuesday's 15-race card at Dover Tetrick need three wins to break the record. He recorded win 1,076 with Vivere (1:53.1) in the fourth race and tied the record in the ninth race with SA Cheerleader (1:54.1). After setting the recrod he added two more victories, winning the 14th race with Standforsomething (1:57) and the 15th race with Housewives Delight (1:55). Tetrick, who turned 26 on Thanksgiving Day, already holds the single-season earnings record. The previous mark of $15,085,992 was set by Brian Sears in 2005. Tetrick went into Tuesday’s card with $16,432,529 in earnings this year and $35,843,694 for his career, which began in 1998.
