Driver David Miller captured both $19,000 Fox Sports Net Series divisions among the four winners he recorded in the first five races of the night Thursday at the Meadowlands.

In the opening round of the three-week Fox Sports Net Series, Miller won with Hop Sing in the third race and Shu Hanover in the fifth race.

Hop Sing, making his first start since he was claimed for $100,000 March 19 by Donna Wier, battled a pylon skimming Armbro Barnes for a head victory in 1:51.1. Silver Flash was third.

Hop Sing, a 4-year-old son of The Panderosa, now trained by Chris Oakes, picked up his first win in eight starts this year.

Trained and co-owned (with Jordan Sklut and Peter Barounes) by Ken Rucker, Shu Hanover collected his second straight win and fifth in 11 starts this year with a 1:50.4 mile in the second division. The 4-year-old Arturo gelding found room on the inside and won by neck over Lucky Life. It was three-quarters of a length back to Whodunit in third.

Miller, currently third in the Meadowlands driver standings, opened the night winning both ends of the early daily double, taking the first race with Dr Zip and the second race with He's All That. In his only loss in the first five races, he was second in the fourth race with Angels Have Wings.
