Ken Seeber, a well-known Standardbred veterinarian who also trained some of the sport's top stakes horses during the 1992 racing season, died Monday at his home in New York after a short battle with cancer. He was 66.
Dr. Seeber worked for many years as a veterinarian, treating some of the sport's stars, many of the out of the W.R. Haughton Stable. Among his patients was the world champion Nihilator.
In 1992 Dr. Seeber trained a large stable that earned more than $900,000 in purses. The group included Adios elim winner Cole Muffler, Woodrow Wilson elim winner Bonnie And Clyde, and such notables as Jake And Elwood, Mantese, LPG, CKS and Pilgrim's Patriot.
