First Choice Marketing and the Hambletonian Society announced today plans to host the eighth annual Continuing Education Seminar for Equine Veterinarians, to be held in conjunction with the 82nd Hambletonian Festival of Racing, taking place on Friday, Aug. 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at its new host hotel--the Sheraton Meadowlands in East Rutherford, N.J.

Seminar participants attend free of charge, and will earn up to six continuing education credits.

This year, as a very special addition to the Seminar program, the keynote speaker will be Dr. Dean W. Richardson, Chief of Surgery at the George D. Widener Hospital for Large Animals, at the University of Pennsylvania's New Bolton Center. Dr. Richardson gained international recognition as the head of Barbaro’s medical team.

The Continuing Education Wet Labs program will take place at the Meadowlands Racetrack on Thursday, August 2, with sessions running from 8 a.m.-12 noon and 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Participants will earn four credit hours per session. Transportation and lunch will be provided. There will be a $250 fee per session. Participation in these intensive, hands-on sessions is extremely limited. A complete listing of sessions and more information can be found at www.hambletonian.org. (Hambletonian Society)
